Bookmans to give away $21,000 to Arizona Schools
Festival Staff / October 6, 2011
In the past five years Bookmans Entertainment Exchange has awarded more than $60,000 to deserving schools while encouraging students to read millions of books through the Bookmans Reading Challenge.
This year Bookmans updated its program to include more schools and recognize innovation in education. The 2012 Bookmans School Challenge is open to all public and charter elementary, middle and high schools throughout Arizona and will award $21,000 in prize money, including the $15,000 grand prize.
The initial online application process for schools began Oct. 1 and ends Dec. 1. For more information on deadlines and the submission process schools are encouraged to visit www.bookmans.com/community/reading-challenge. The winner of the 2012 Bookmans School Challenge will be announced March 6, 2012.
Bookmans offers year round support to educators through Project: Educate, a reward program for teachers, and to students through READ 10, a reading incentive program, as well as Kids Club for children and 1317 program for teens.
Information on all of these programs can be found at www.bookmans.com.
